After spending several years working in Birmingham's jewellery quarter, Scott joined Land Rover in 1994, working on the Range Rover's "body in white" facility. In 1998 he became responsible for the quality control in the trim and final assembly area for the Freelander. In 1999 he moved again, this time as a Key Associate responsible for the rectification and repairs of the Freelander.

At eighteen, Scott became an Instructor and continued working with A2 YFA until 1998. During this time he gained his BELA and First Aid qualifications. He continues to be very involved in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, helping to run an open award group in Mere Green. In 2000 he was selected as a Gold Award Guide working at St. James's Palace.

His other keen interests are computing and rallying, working as a rally marshall for car clubs around the midlands, and attending the larger rallies such as the Network Q Rally of GB. He would like to become involved in co-driving and also a marshall at the Network Q Rally.
