John spent more than a year working for Travel West Midlands as a Travel Assistant, based Birmingham city centre, issuing bus passes, coach tickets and booking flights. In April 1996 he joined Servisair as a Passenger Agent, involving the meeting, departing and checking of flights at Birmingham Airport. After three months he then moved to ticket sales where he worked as a Ticket Agent for a further two years. In January 1999 he was promoted to Supervisor, with responsibility for the effective running of the ticket sales department, including budgetary control and the line management of nine staff. His work has taken him abroad, involving work in Belgium, Malta and Ireland. He has also spent much time privately travelling, including to Russia, Singapore, Australia, the USA and Mexico. He continues to work as an Instructor at A2 YFA, with responsibility for physical training. |
