In summer 1998, after leaving school, Dean joined Insurance Express in Birmingham working as a Sales Representative providing clients with insurance quotes and arranging cover. In February 2000 he opted for a complete career change joining Pontin's in Southport as a Blue Coat entertainer. During the day he worked at the many attractions including the indoor and outdoor adventure playgrounds, crazy golf, swimming pool, go-karting and a new multi-activity centre. In the evening he turned his talents to singing, dancing and general entertaining. Towards the end of 2000 Dean left Pontin's and returned to his former job at Insurance Express. He has now completed his Gold D of E Award and is awaiting his presentation. He has a new car and continues to plays Rugby at weekends, currently playing for Kyonch RUFC in Witton.
