In 1997 Dale joined Good Hope Hospital, Sutton Coldfield working as a Nursing Auxiliary on their Orthopaedic Ward. In March 1998 he began studying for a Diploma in Higher Education - Adult Nursing at the University of Central England. During the course he continued to work as a Nursing Auxiliary in many fields and as an operating department orderly in emergency theatres.

At eighteen Dale became an Instructor and continued working with A2 YFA until 1998 when he took some time off in order to concentrate on his university course. Once again he continues to be involved, currently working as the designer of 'A2 YFA Online' during his spare time and is the instructor for the ASC group on a Tuesday evening, putting his BETA Award to good use.

He attended Buckingham Palace to receive his Gold D of E Award and continues to support the Award by helping with open award groups in north Birmingham. He also works as an Instructor for the Scout Association and has become Ambulance Aid qualified in his work with the Red Cross before gaining a contract to work for Warwickshire Ambulance Service.
