The eighteen month event, the biggest we have ever undertaken, involved our team in three challenges - a team challenge, a business challenge and the most complicated, a community challenge. This involved a "Challenge
Anneka" - style opportunity in which our team worked against the clock to complete a project a Kingstanding School in Birmingham, which teaches children with special needs. A2 YFA had to construct a path and viewing area in a conservation area suitable for children in wheelchairs. This was warmly welcomed by the staff and pupils and was valued at £4,800.
Senior members have for many years assisted the Community Relations Department by fitting smoke alarms in local homes, whilst the branch itself aims to ensure that all its members are protected by smoke alarms in their home. Members also work with the police on specific initiatives to reduce vehicle and cycle theft. They painted a city
center car park, with the worst crime figures in the City, to help make it a safer environment for its customers.
