Knowing how to deal with an
emergency situation is a skill which may need to be put to use at any
time, whether it be in the high street or hill.

All of out members are required to learn First Aid as
part of either the A.S.C. or D of E Awards, so it is built into the
drill night training program as standard.
Depending on the members age will
depend on what standard they
train to. A.S.C. members will learn basic
skills as they should never be out of the reach of a trained
instructor. However, Gold members will find themselves in situations where
instructors will be out of the immediate vicinity, therefore need to
learn the skills of containing an emergency situation until professional
help can be sought.
By the time the training is complete,
members should know how to safely deal with the following:

Senior members and instructors all
take a Health & Safety Executive approved 'First Aid at Work'
course. This certificate is renewed at least every three years to
ensure everybody it trained to the highest possible standard. Additional
